Within this hand cast bronze mandala are layers of geometric relationships which represent rhythm, tone, and light.
Inscribed in the circle, a triangle and bisecting line reveal a relationship of 2:3. This ratio of rhythm is found within the human body and in music around the world. As this rhythm speeds up, it transforms into an interval of two tones, the perfect 5th. Faster yet, it enters the spectrum of visible light as two colors, also in harmony.
Holding the circle's edge are eight lotus petals forming a higher octave of the number two. The three circles inside divide the triangle into additional ratios of 2:3, each an octave higher than the original. This progression can continue indefinitely, taking us
from sound into silence,
from the visible to the invisible,
from the known to the unknown. . .
Enter into the mystery.
